Your professional maternity photo session will be a special experience designed to capture the beauty and excitement of your pregnancy. Here are some things you can generally expect from such a session:
Before the actual photo shoot, let’s meet at my studio or over the phone. This is an opportunity to discuss your preferences, ideas, and any specific themes or styles you have in mind as well as tour the studio and try on our gowns. I am happy to provide guidance on clothing choices and poses.
Maternity photo sessions can take place at the studio, our exclusive outdoor location, another scenic outdoor setting, or even your own home. The choice of location depends on your preferences and the style that you envision.
Many maternity photo sessions involve a variety of outfit changes to capture different looks. You are welcome to use gowns from our client closet or you might choose to wear your own form-fitting clothing that accentuates your baby bump, flowy dresses, or even more casual and intimate outfits. We are excited to offer maternity gowns or as part of our services.
I love to guiding you through poses that showcase your pregnancy in the most flattering way. This might include shots of you alone, with your partner, or with other family members..
Maternity photo sessions are most often scheduled between the 28th and 32nd weeks of pregnancy. During this time, your belly is usually visibly round, but you’re still likely to be comfortable enough to move and pose comfortably.
Depending on the style and your preferences, props may be used to enhance the photos. This could include baby shoes, ultrasound images, or other items that hold special meaning to you.
A good maternity photographer will look beyond the mere physical form of pregnancy. At our studio we aim to capture the emotional connection and anticipation between you and your partner. Family connection is an important element to our portrait photography.
The best images will be selected from your session for basic adjustments to enhance the proofs. Adjustments to color, lighting, and minor touch-ups can be expected. About 1-2 weeks after your session, you will meet with the photographer at the studio to view your portrait proofs. We provide a generous amount of time for your selection and ordering process.
Images that are ordered from receive our final editing steps that include hair clean up, removal of distractions, sharpening, etc…
Ordered images will be edited and placed in an online gallery where you will be able to download them. Unordered images will be deleted. You receive the digital images that you order in high-res format via download. The number and format in which the images are delivered may vary depending on what your final order looks like.
You will have the option to order prints, albums, or other custom products featuring your maternity photos. No minimum purchase is required. You may order a la carte or save by selecting one of our collections. Art design services are also available to assist you in ordering albums and wall art, etc…
Every photographer has their own style and approach, so it’s essential to communicate your preferences and expectations. A consultation can help ensure that the final results align with your vision for this special moment in your life.
