If you really wish to capture their tininess right away, you can book a session as soon as you know that you are pregnant. Once baby arrives, we will update your session date/time only if baby is more than 3 days early or late.

Your investment is safe as well. Should we need to reschedule there are no fees to do so.

Preparing for extra special portraits: We have everything that you could need for your session with few exceptions. I recommend bringing a pacifier and a few sentimental items that we could maybe include in the portraits.

We keep the studio warm so they will not be chilly. We have a variety of props that we use, but if you have some special items you want to include you may bring them along as well. Arrive with baby wearing something that you would like them photographed in so that we can jump right into photos. I will help get baby out of the car seat without waking them. We are hoping that baby will fall into a deep sleep while you are driving over so that it makes it easier to begin.

Photographing the older baby: If life was too hectic to catch the brand-new baby phase or you simply want to capture all the little changes through the first year, we are more than happy to help. It is an honor and a pleasure helping families remember their lives beautifully.

Older babies photograph beautifully, so often families will schedule multiple sessions through the first year to make sure that they document all of their big changes. As with newborn sessions we have to led the baby lead the session for the best results possible. We have a small collection of clothing items that you can use during your session. We do recommend you bring your own cake smash outfit. We style the session simply to keep the attention on your precious little one. It is always a good time to capture portraits of your children.

If you are early on in pregnancy it is never too early to schedule a session. Many clients plan ahead and book in advance so that they can make payments towards their experience which makes it a bit easier to pay for the unique one-of-a-kind artwork that they want to bring home.

When to capture milestones

A popular option is to capture portraits with a quick session at 3 months, 6 months and 9 months. I do recommend considering capturing family at these times as well for extra sweet memories. For the first and second birthdays it is common to capture formal Family portraits along with a cake smash and/or splash during a longer session.
