It is never too early to book your maternity or newborn sessions. In fact, we often book out months in advance. It is so much easier to get scheduled when you reach out early to ensure that there will be availability in the calendar for all of your appointments.

 If you have passed this window I would still encourage you to reach out about any last minute openings. We are able to capture newborn style photos up until week 5 or so as well.

Let's meet at my studio or over the phone before your session or before you book in. This will allow us the opportunity to discuss your preferences, ideas, and any specific themes or styles that you have in mind. You can also tour of our studio and even try on our gowns!

I can come to you on special dates for an added $75 fee. Fridays and Saturdays are not available for location sessions as I book back to back appointments in studio in Princeton or at my land in Foreston, MN on Fridays and Saturdays..

Our Princeton Studio is a great location for Family, Maternity and Newborn portraits as well as milestone portraits. Featuring both living room and bedroom sets, backlighting, and a fine art backdrop.

Outdoor Foreston Location: Our outdoor location gives us access to 100 acres of family land. Featuring a variety of looks and lighting situations this spot is sure to please.

Custom Locations: We are available to come to you on special dates and times. If you would like an in home session or at another special location there is a travel fee of $75. Please reach out to discuss details and set up a consultation.

The Art Experience includes an outfit change for the family. You are welcome to use our gowns and clothing items from the client closet to dress your family members. For outfits we recommend casual and cozy outfits. We are excited to offer our client closet as part of our services.

Our Art Experience allows lots of time to do both POSED and LIFESTYLE portraits!

Maternity: Making mama look like a godess is just what I love to do. I will guide you through different pose ideas to give you a good variety. I can also create some portraits that have a more relaxed, romantic feel.

Newborn: Tiny fingers and squishy cheeks, little chubby baby rolls. I can pose baby on the bean bag into a variety of adorable poses as well as intimate lifestyle portraits.

Couples: I love to guiding you through poses that showcase your love in the most flattering way. This might include shots of you kissing, piggy back ride, dancing, walking, etc...

Maternity sessions are best between weeks 28 and 32. If you are beyond 20 weeks it is a good idea to get this scheduled ASAP. However, if you have missed this window I would like to encourage you to reach out anyway. We can check and see if we have any last minute openings.

Newborn sessions are best between 3 and 12 days old. If you are currently at or beyond 32 weeks it is a good idea to get this booked in ASAP. I will ask you some questions that will help me estimate an ideal date for your session. For mom's with health concerns or fluctuating due date estimates I am happy to set you up with a back up date as well.

If you are seeking an outdoor session here are some recommendations. The spring season in MN makes mid May the best for spring. While Fall sessions are best in late September.

Outdoor sessions are best during golden hour for the best, most flattering lighting. Most of the images on my website were taken during or just before the golden hour. The studio is available during the day for families that simply cannot schedule for golden hour.

NOPE! Please discuss with the photographer before session day if you are thinking about bringing your own props:

Depending on the style and your preferences, props may be used to enhance the photos. This could include blankets, sweaters, hats, uniforms or other items that hold special meaning to you. HOWEVER, you are welcome to include any fun, sweet or sentimental items that you would like to. 

If you would rather not bring anything that is awesome too. We specialize in Maternity and Newborn Photography so we are well stocked with Maternity and Newborn Props, Outfits and Accessories so you should not need to bring anything. 

Photography is so much more than capturing your likeness. A good photographer will aim to capture the love and connection that you and your family share. My aim is to capture the love and intimacy of your relationships. by creating an atmosphere of joy.

Sessions with children should feel like the best playdate ever! If you have kiddos that may not cooperate it is a great idea to choose an experience that provides time for those shy kids to warm up and just to try different things.

Stubborn and shy kiddos may need you to bring a very loved family friend to help them feel comfortable, get them looking at the camera, and to get that genuine laughter.

Working with kids means it is best to follow their lead. Make the session all about enjoying them and bonding with them.

Editing and Retouching: After the photo shoot, the photographer will typically select the best images and may perform basic editing and retouching to enhance the final results. This can include adjustments to color, lighting, and minor touch-ups. You will be shown these lightly edited proofs during your ordering appointment. Once you place your order the images move on to retouching. We generally fix fly aways, remove distractions and soften temporary skin issues like acne.
 You are welcome to make requests at this time so that our editing team can make sure that the final images are amazing. 

The creative fee that is paid at booking for the Art Experience and the Express Experience does not include prints or products or digital images. You can select what you would like to order from when placing an order at your viewing and ordering appointment. 
We do sometimes offer packages at booking that include a set number of images with print release. By booking In and pre-paying for a package mean that some digitals or products come with your session. Please pay close attention to this when booking in. Our Mini Events in spring and Fall 2024 currently come with all images and print release at booking. You can check the minis here.

Prints and Products: I am happy to offer many printed items to choose from. You can order prints, albums, or other custom products featuring your beautiful photos. You can order a la carte or you can save by selecting one of our collections. My design services are complementary and available to assist you in ordering albums and wall art, etc... This is really conveniently done during your ordering appointment.

I am proud to provide each of my clients with a generous amount of time  for a no-pressure in person viewing and ordering appointment at my studio once the proofs are ready for ordering. During this appointment I will assist you in selecting your favorite images, help you design products that call to you and help you formalize your order.

The Express Experience Ordering appointment happens same day about 20-30 minutes after your session ends.

The Art Experience Ordering Appointment takes place about 2 weeks after your session date.

Delivery of Final Images: Ordered images will be edited and placed in an online gallery where you will be able to download them as soon as they are ready. Our guarantee is 2 weeks or less for portrait sessions and 6-8 weeks for events. Unordered images are deleted and will not be in your final gallery. You will receive the ordered set of high-res digital images via download. The number of images and the format in which they are delivered may vary depending on what your final order looks like.

Our printed products range from Fine Art Prints, Framed Art, Canvas, Albums, Calendars, Ornaments and greeting cards and more. These items are ordered from the lab once editing is complete. Depending on what you order these items can take an additional 1-4 weeks to process and ship you. Prints are the fastest and albums take the longest. By shipping to you directly from our lab your products will be in your hands as fast as possible.

Pets are welcome to join you during The Art Experience.

If you are going to include pets in your portrait session it is a really good idea to bring with a family friend that loves those furry family members. When we are photographing your pets with your family they can help me get them in position, help get them looking while feeling comfortable. They can also help manage them while they are not in the photos so that your family can relax and be in the moment. Tips: If you are bringing a cat to avoid them clawing and damaging clothing please try these glue on caps. Dogs should remain on a leash.  It is also a great idea to bring their favorite toys and treats with to help get them to look.

If our session is in studio or on my land I do require that you bring a friend so that they can make sure that those furry family members stay safe and that they do not get into any trouble.
