My gown was a little untraditional most would say, but it was the perfect dress for me. Red is my favorite color, and I’m a little obsessed over it. So it only made sense to have a bright red wedding dress.

What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be?

Don’t stress the little things. Will just be a good story in the end. Make sure you pay your vendors before your wedding so you don’t have to worry about payment at a wedding. Enjoy the time that you have it’ll go by quick.

Please share a bit about your story.

Seth and I first met when I was 13 and he was 15. We started dating while I was in high school and he had just joined the army. I can’t exactly tell you how we fell in love. I think it was just always there. I do believe we are soulmates. After 11 years we decided to tie the knot. He proposed to me after a plane ride in Duluth, on the beach next to Superior. It was one of the more romantic things he has done for me. When choosing a wedding venue there was no other place except for Taylors Falls Minnesota. We went on there on most of our anniversaries and there was just so much love there for us. Plus the beautiful scenery. The paddle boat was something that we always did when we visited Taylors Falls. It was where we always wanted to have our reception. Our wedding was a Fairytale dream come true and we will have our happily ever after.

Describe your day:

With it being in the woods we wanted to use the natural fall Beauty. Unfortunately the leaves didn’t change much, but it was just as beautiful. Most of wedding touches were personal and handmade. Everything else was found at either consignment shops or Facebook. Honestly most of my sources or either Pinterest or other wedding photos. I used Google and search for specific words like rustic in Fairytail and sorted through the pictures until I found what I wanted to make. My favorite touches that I made were personal. Like are head centerpiece included my late grandfather’s deer horns. The pictures with the ring also includes my great great great grandmother’s handkerchief that has been passed through the women, which happened to be my something old. Our wedding focused on more is less and just using the natural beauty of the place. As for the day it went pretty smoothly. Hair and makeup was started by 8 a.m. and had everybody done about an hour before the wedding. One of the things that we did run into was the aisle Runner that I chose happened to stick to your feet when you walk. So that was fun tripping down the aisle. The ceremony was magical and went on without a hitch. From our handwritten vows too the Beautiful Day the God graced us with. We had pictures after the ceremony and boy do you need patience. Especially with two big families and two big family shots. After that we took pictures with our bridal party. Following those pictures we got a mini photo shoot of my husband and I. My wedding flowed pretty well so when we were done with our photoshoot the boat was getting ready. We had a total of 15 minutes to get the boat ready while it was returning to the dock for boarding. We were able to organize and get everything done by the time we docked. There were little mistakes like missing the top of the cake, but we just grabbed it when we returned. So it was nothing big we just didn’t get it pictured as our photographer left when we docked the boat. Our first dance was in the open air on top of the boat, Under the Stars. It was the most magical experience I’ve had in my 26 years of life. After that we just celebrated our marriage with our loved ones and had our fair share booze. When we docked we had a party bus to drop everybody off at their hotels so no one had to worry about driving. I got my fairytale wedding and my prince.
